So how does a young Christian woman reconcile a fashionable wardrobe with maintaining her integrity?

Written by international professional model Rachel Lee Carter, Fashioned by Faith offers a cutting-edge approach to the concept of beauty with a Biblical foundation that will attract moms and daughters alike. Readers will love hearing about Carter’s exciting story as she leads them on an engaging study that touches on a huge felt need for young women: real beauty has nothing to do with looks.

Offering three valuable perspectives—teen boys, a professional model, and God’s Word—Carter explains her standards of modesty in a way that will make readers acquire a specific understanding of the author’s wardrobe choices and the impact those choices can make on others. Readers will also learn to season their self-image with daily quiet time with God. A tour of Scripture will reveal the value of heart issues like modesty and why they’re important to God.

Never compromising her sense of style or her faith, every young lady can discover what it means to be Fashioned by Faith. Moms and girls will love this book!

When I received this book I was thinking that I would read through it and see what it was like, write a review, then give it to my younger sister to read as she is having issues with modesty lately. However, once I started reading it and answering the questions, I realized that it is not just a book for those who are dealing with how to dress modestly in our skin-is-in society, but also as a reminder and an encouragement for those of us who already dress modestly. I have been greatly impacted by the book and have noticed even some small things in my wardrobe and how I dress that I am working on changing. I love how Rachel shares her story and how she has continued to dress moestly even in the midst of being a model for world renowned fashion designers. Having the guys tell their point of view and what think of modesty definitely added to the lessons in each chapter and it encourages girls to dress more modestly despite media and social pressure because guys actually prefer a girl who dresses modestly and appropriately. Absolutely loved this book!!! Recommending it to a lot of friends and family friends!!!

Girl Talk With God by Susie Shellenberger

Conversations between God and a teenage girl inspire, teach, and motivate young women to pray and live a dynamic life for God. Most Christian teens don't know how to pray. And when they do pray, they don't know how to discern God's voice. In Girl Talk With God, author Susie Shellenberger shows teens how to pray and challenges them to deepen specific areas in their lives through a series of conversations between God and a teenage girl.

As a trusted author and founder of Brio magazine, Shellenberger has proven a keen ability to reach this often-misunderstood age group with her signature blend of casual, non-threatening teaching.

Updated for teens in 2010, this book will teach girls what it means to pray and know God as Father and Friend.

Absolutely incredible!!!!! Loved this book! Susie did a great job at making this book applicable to teens of all ages, even to those of us who are at the end of our teenage years and are almost to our twenties. She covers numerous topics that are extremely big issues for teens these days. From eating disorders to wearing crosses just because they look nice. I've read the whole book and it has definitely changed my point of view on several things. I am so glad that I got a chance to receive this book and read it. It is absolutely incredible and I am planning on giving my copy to a friend who I think will love it! Definitely sharing this book with friends and recommending it!! Great book! I recommend it for any girl in their teens or even their early to mid-twenties!!! Did you know You Were Made to Make a Difference?
This adaptation of Outlive Your Life for teens offers practical tips youth can take out into their community to make a difference, plus real-life stories about those who have done just that. Teens learn that God can use them to make a difference right now. He wants to use them today, without waiting for them to be older, stronger, richer, or even more “together.” God can use their minds, their spirits, and their hands and feet to make permanent change for His kingdom.
Also included are valuable resources, interesting facts about the needy in the world and how little it takes to make a big difference, and other interactive elements such as journaling opportunities for writing personal ideas and service goals.
Teens will learn that their role in life is bigger than themselves, and that they’re not too young to make a difference for God.

Incredible book!! I actually read it in like two days but I postponed putting out a review right away because I found out that my youth group was doing to video study on Wednesday nights as our curriculum. I wanted to see how it corresponded with the book. I was surprised at how well it corresponded and the way it was presented to catch a teen's attention. Provided practical ideas of how teens, like me, can make a difference in our world by doing seemingly mundane things. Teen's are often made to feel like they can't do anything to change or make a difference in their world. Max and Jenna did a great job at showing how much simple acts can change the world, but not only simple acts, simple acts done by teenagers. It was very insightful and VERY encouraging!!! Awesome book!!

Will the world end in 2012??

In Will the World End in 2012?, Raymond Hundley, PhD, gives a Christian evaluation of the ten most prominent apocalypse theories causing 2012 mania.

In the first millennia after the birth of Christ, nestled in the mountains of Central America, the Mayan people gazed at the stars and calculated days, months, years, and even the future. Their calendar, more sophisticated than any the world had known, indicated an abrupt end of time, December 21, 2012. The future they predicted is now upon us.

“There have been 149 apocalypse predictions between AD 44 and 2009,” says author Dr. Raymond Hundley. But will it really happen? In this stirring, balanced, and well-researched book, he evaluates the ten most prominent apocalypse theories and gives a surprising answer to the question everyone is asking.

His knowledge and insights lead to compelling conclusions . . . and a heartfelt call for all of humanity to look upon Jesus Christ as it seeks clarity and peace.

Despite going into reading this book with a skeptical approach, it actually ended up being a book that gave me an insight into the different theories out there. There are so many different theories about the end of the world and when that will happen. I didn't realize the different theories out there and how many there are. It was a really interesting book for me and I am glad I got to read it. It gave a different perspective about all of the 'end of the world' talk that's going on these days. I learned a lot while reading this book, but I don't feel that I can tell about it on here due to the fact it might give away too much about the book. Overall, it was a great book and i'll definitely recommend it to anyone who likes to read or is interested in finding out more about the 'end of the world' theories.

Why You Say It: The Fascinating Stories Behind Over 600 Everyday Words and Phrases by Webb Garrison

Are you at the end of your rope, wouldn’t it be nice if someone would throw you an olive branch at the eleventh hour instead of passing the buck?

Why You Say It explores the history of these and over six hundred other common and uncommon phrases in an intriguing and entertaining way. It has been a really fun and really interesting read for me.

Kaleidoscope: Seeing God's Wit And Wisdom In A Whole New Light by Patsy Clairmont

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 203px; height: 320px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_jjNkBg_IYVI/S4xb65fynKI/AAAAAAAAACA/hyvJxAgsGuU/s320/_240_360_Book_152_cover.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5443827117008788642" />
Acclaimed author and Women of Faith speaker Patsy Clairmont causes womens' hearts to leap and their hopes to lift in this quirky, straight-to-the point look at the Proverbs.

Understanding the Christian life and the Bible can be a daunting task. But maybe God didn't mean it to be so hard. In Kaleidoscope of Proverbs, Patsy Clairmont pieces together some powerful messages from God and reveals new facets of beauty, inspiration, and instruction. Written for busy women, Patsy offers brief, powerful chapters that address the key aspects of their lives, hearts, and relationships.

In the Proverbs, God gives us small gems of hope and truth, and in Kaleidoscope of Proverbs, Patsy Clairmont unveils them for readers with her trademark humor and insightful teaching.

This was a book I recieved from Thomas Nelson to review. I think my main reason for getting it was because of the cover, since it's so bright and colorful. It also was the most interesting of the ones they had at the time. So when I opened it I was ready to read it and find out something new, and a new way to understand those previously misunderstood verses of Proverbs. So when I finished reading the book I was amazed at what I had learned. It really helped me apply verses I previously hadn't understood to my own life. It was really easy to understand, and I was able to read through it without an issue. I really liked, although I do have to say that it was definitely geared for more of an adult audience rather than that of teenagers. But I still enjoyed it none the less.

Revolve 2010: NCV Revolve New Testament Biblezine

With its sharp look and relevant articles, Revolve 2010 is a must-have for teenage girls! This 6th edition includes new and updated sidebars, features, and images! With over 1 million copies sold, this New Testament continues showing teen girls that the Bible is relevant to their lives.

Features include:

* The truth about guys from Chad Eastham (featured speaker on Revolve Tour and author of The Truth About Guys)
* Behind the scenes of The Word of Promise: The Next Generation, with stars Jordin Sparks, Cody Linley, and Corbin Bleu
* Celeb Drama-Trauma
* Q&A with Jenna Lucado
* Quizzes aimed to increase self-awareness and point readers to Scripture
* Free music downloads from Group1Crew, Stellar Kart, and Britt Nicole
Since 2005, more than 215,000 girls have attended a Revolve Tour event. For 2008-2009, the Tour has expanded to 16 cities and expects to reach 150,000 girls this year alone.

With the little sections throughout the 'biblezine' about guys, style, Q&A, and some quizzes, this would definitely be able to keep a teen girls interest. Especially when it comes to pre=teen girls, and younger teen girls. It presents the New Testament in a way that is easy for them to understand, with a few sections explaining what the scripture means using language they use. Overall I think it is a very good version of the New Testament that I would definitely recommend to younger teenage girls that I know.

Healing Sands: A Sullivan Crisp Novel by Nancy Rue & Stephen Arterburn

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 209px; height: 320px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_jjNkBg_IYVI/S1PXrKT4XJI/AAAAAAAAAB4/UOegm_Eu6v4/s320/_225_350_Book_110_cover.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5427919112413666450" />
In the struggle for healing, when do you fight and when do you surrender?

Ryan Alexander-Coe is a talented photojournalist who has been on assignment all over the world. But when her two sons choose to live with their father after her divorce, Ryan must give her career up for a small-town newspaper job in order to be near them.

Life spirals out of control when her fifteen-year-old son is arrested. Desperation--both over the fact that she cannot believe her son commited this crime and that he refuses to talk to her--sends her anger level soaring . . . and eventually sends her storming into Dr. Sullivan Crisp's office in search of ways to cope with her anger. Sully is in town assisting at one of his clinics and continuing his search for Belinda Cox, the woman whose guilt-inducing counseling caused the death of his wife and daughter. When Sully's search ends in disaster, both he and Ryan will have to fully rely on God--rather than themselves--to survive these storms.

This book is amazing. The story line is easy to follow and it's easy to get to know the characters and almost feel like you are the character. This book was a great read, in the fact that, my parents are getting divorced right now and although this is from the adults view, it still was a good book to read at this point in time. I definitely could relate to the feelings of Ryan, as well as her kids. The writing is amazing, the characters are true to life, and the overall story is absolutely incredible!!! I would recommend it to anyone, whether they have been affected by divorce or not, because it's an amazing book!!!

Green: Book Zero: The Begining and The End by Ted Dekker

At Last . . . The Circle Reborn

The story of how Thomas Hunter first entered the Black Forest and forever changed our history began at a time when armies were gathered for a final battle in the valley of Migdon. Green is a story of love, betrayal, and sweeping reversals set within the apocalypse. It is the beginning: the truth behind a saga that has captured the imagination of more than a million readers with the Books of History Chronicles.

But even more, Green brings full meaning to the Circle Series as a whole, reading as both prequel to Black and sequel to White, completing a full circle. This is Book Zero, the Circle Reborn, both the beginning and the end. The preferred starting point for new readers . . . and the perfect climax for the countless fans who’ve experienced Black, Red, and White.

The whole time I was reading this book I was on the edge of my seat. I couldn't wait to find out what came next. As I had previously read Black, Red and White, I already was familar with the characters and the story line. Although, I think this is a book that you can start the series with and continue with Black, then Red, and then White, especially if you have never read any of the other three books. This is a great book if you love suspense, mystery, romance, suprising twists, and a very insightful spiritual comparisons. This is one book that I would recommend to anyone that I knew liked supsense and mystery. Rather I would just suggest this book to anyone who liked to read. Ted Dekker does a great job of getting you into the story, so much so that you don't want to put the book done. Another great book by Ted Dekker! And an AMAZING finish to the Circle Series!!!

I Review For Thomas Nelson!!
